„The hotel rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The ceiling fan and openable windows are plus points. However, the noisy road downstairs can be a nuisance.
The room should be cleaned everyday and the amenities should be replenished everyday. But that didn't happen and we had to call for water, clean towels and rubbish bin emptying.”
„i didnt have high expectations coming here but i cant forgive neglected room with no maintenance. the room and toilet are dirty. There's rubbish and dirt in front of our door. bunch of lizards dropping near bed and sofa. mold spot in toilet and dont let me start with the disgusting toilet sit covered with lots of black spots and stains. we can clearly see yellow stain on rim of blankets too. some yellow stains at pillowcases. they dont have phone to call receptionist. the furniture are good though its not the old type of furniture and the room are huge.
Overall if you are quite picky with hygiene and cleanliness i wont suggest. But if you can close one eyes and ignore all those, sure can consider coming here”
„Not worth the price.!
needed alot of upgrades..
Room is okay but dont have mirror and have weird smell..
Toilet very old and not clean, dont have sink , towel hanger and mirror..
Second night elevator breakdown.. As i'm staying with elders they cant use stairs have to change to other hotel on that night..
With the price we paid totally not recommended..”
We are located exactly in the heart of the Kuala Terengganu, walking distance to China Town of Kuala Terengganu is about 2minutes. Surrounding us is full of delicious food restaurants. Grab car is easily available to go anywhere you like.
„Check-in is convenient, the room is quite big, I like the decoration style, all are IKEA, fresh and simple. It is very close to Chinatown, there is Watsons downstairs, the room price is also very cheap, recommended to stay! Malaysian durian is really delicious, sweet and soft, I ate Musang King and Black Thorn.”

Great
MMsaifullahsany90Excellent service. Before check in they call us to confirmed what times expected to check in. Im also requested to hv a pool view. Room cleanliness is superb. Huge smart tv in the room. Super delicious breakfast spreads. Staff is friendly some more. Definitely will stay again on my next terengganu visit.
AAin3004Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable vacation. The combination of friendly staff,
comfortable accommodation, and delicious food made for a memorable vacation
experience. In conclusion, it was the perfect place to freshen up and relax
SSurayaI had a wonderful stay at The Payang Hotel! Even though there were only two of us, we opted for the family room, which was very spacious and comfortable. The location is excellent—within walking distance to Pasar Payang, where there’s a lively atmosphere and plenty of shops. We also found many great places to eat nearby, making meal times convenient and enjoyable. It’s close to Masjid Putih, which was a lovely landmark to visit during our stay.
The hotel’s on-site restaurant serves delicious food, and their coffee and cakes are delightful. During our stay, we tried several dishes and desserts, all of which were very good. The Chinois Cafe, located within the hotel, offers a unique and aesthetically pleasing dining experience.
The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, and the overall cleanliness and comfort of the property truly made our trip memorable. I’d happily recommend The Payang Hotel to anyone looking for a convenient and pleasant place to stay in the area!

Very Good
AAnonymous UserLocated just infront KTCC which is very convenient for us to sightseeing. Not only that, it also near to Mayang Mall which only located around 800m fro the premise. Plenty of restaurants within walkable distance. If your room facing left side of the building, the scenery is amazing.
The cleanliness can be improved. No free disposable toothbrush provided but they supply head cap, bar soap and disposable small plastic which very awkward.
During check-in, even though we arrived at around 3.30pm,the room is still not ready and they negotiate to DOWNGRADE our room which very irritating to us. We demand to get what we booked and they comply.
The parking is provided but limited.
SsuehanananaBig room. Comfortable. Bathrooms are all clean. Limited breakfast. Gotta go down a little fast. Overall everything is okay. The hotel is really close to the payang market. in the middle of the city. Can be reached on foot. In front of the hotel there is a white mosque. Muslims can pray near there.
Only this is an old hotel. So the furniture is all old. Receptionists are all friendly. Really satisfied. School holiday fully book. Must book early.
LLost TravellerI requested king/queen bed but they give 2 single bed. Room is okay. However the entrance of my room near to housekeeping items that not covered properly. It’s very uncomfortable. Hotel should improve by covered the area. Overall is ok
BBettybqsEverything was great- came during weekdays so there was no many people here, feels like a private resort.
It’s an old beach resort, but the beauty caught my eyes. I wish they can make some enhancement, they deserve more recognition.
Also, one problem I encounter- requested for them to send me iron, but the forgot to do so. They should have been more alert because there were like, less than 10 bookings on that day. Service can be improved.
GGuest UserComfortable stay. The buggy drivers could’ve been more friendly and accommodating. Housekeepers are very friendly (they better suited to be at the counter/buggy as the social skills are better)
We need to follow the buggy to our hotel by car. The first buggy driver we need to follow — he’s okay but as he need to usher another family, he passed it to another buggy driver in the middle of the journey.
But no 2 ways communication I guess, we didn’t even know that we should follow another buggy until we missed a junction and noticed this second driver only then was signalling us to follow him.
And once we arrive at the place which is not a single unit (got multiple units at one area) he quickly tries to leave. I need to call him back before he was away to reconfirm which one is the building we are staying in. He looked annoyed when I asked, but he didn’t even explain properly… I should be the one who is annoyed tbh.
The hotel is okay. It would be better if the staff are a little bit more accommodating and brush up on their social skills. It will significantly improve the staying experience.
LLiana A.Overall, my experience at this budget hotel was a mix of pros and cons. I had booked a standard room, which I found to be small but decent. However, there was a noticeable smell in the room and the bed was not very comforting. The cleanliness of the room was okay, although the toilet had a lingering smell.
The amenities provided in the room were basic but sufficient, including a small ironing board, slippers, towels, shampoo, and shower gel. There was no complimentary water bottle, you can buy your own at 7eleven or at the reception.
On the positive side, the hotel's location was excellent. It was conveniently situated near a drawbridge, food restaurants, a self-service laundry, a 7-Eleven, a Secret Recipe outlet, and an Ayam Geprek restaurant.
This is a decent accommodation at an affordable price, still a practical choice for travelers looking for a convenient stay on a budget.
